At the Confucius Temple in Beijing, I present a prize to the student who won
the national prize for the Confucius Competition (September 1999)

At the Confucius Temple in Beijing with the direct descendant of Confucius and
the Vice President of Xerox, my co-sponsor of the event. (September 1999)

The Confucian ceremony took place in front of a large crowd and was covered
by 33 newspapers and television companies.

I found this old engraving of the same ceremony from the 18th century, and it is good
to think that we resurrected an ancient tradition. I described what we did as 'living archaeology',
which I think is the best way to consider it.
